We are not only a company, but also a family and we have a story to tell which is written on the leather. At Only Leather Srl, we develop model, work the leather and make bags on commission, in order to let Italian manufacturing excellence known. We produce bags from innovative concepts, without neglecting Tuscan traditional manufacturing’s art,
which made leather goods from Italy famous all over the world. We are attentive to innovations and tendencies coming from high fashion and we are always searching new inspiration, to give space to the new respecting preservation. In every bag made, there is a bit of us, because this work mixes ingenuity, manual skill and creativity.
We like to think that our hands can make wishes come true. We tie stories to people to bring them closer to a tradition coming from afar. This is the result of a teamwork, a value we believe in a lot. Tasks specialization makes
a SMALL piece of leather a GREAT work of art, for the attention to detail. This is our DNA. We strongly believe on it since the beginning and that’s why we do it so well.
Stefano Pistolesi has entered very young the world of leather goods, aged 15. He was an employee but also an expert cutter; he has learned to assemble bags over time and developed skills in modeling. He learned in old artisan workshops in Florence city center. In those circumstances, among strong smells and tradition of the past, every leather was cut by hand, both for the realization of the leather bags and for the utensils.
So he began his carrier as a cutter in 1979. In 1987 he founded his first company and then, in 1991, the second one Papillon Snc, where bags on commission were produced in addiction to the cut. At the beginning of 2000, the company has transformed into into Only Leather srl but the story continues. Stefano wants to go further, facing new adventures. At the same time he holds the position of director at Gherardini Group, a historic Florentine brand appreciated all over the world.
During this period, he founded Trend Srl, together with other partners (his grandchildren), a multi-brand leather goods production company which today counts over 70 employees.
In order to satisfy the increasing demand from foreign brands, both for the semi-finished and the finished product, Trend Srl took over a company in Romania in the Sibiu district, which today has about 350 employees in 2014. In 2015 a new company was established, Italia Manufactoring Srl, that operates mainly for a well-known English brand, employing over 30 workers. In the same year, after the untimely death of the founding partner of Only Leather srl, Stefano took over the company shares and became a sole partner.
In 2016 he created Pistolesi Pelletterie and acquired the production and distribution license for the Gherardini brand.
